Wilde membenci keharusan orang untuk hidup melarat dan nganggur, dia menunjukkan bahwa fungsi sosialisme itu untuk menghapuskan yg namanya kemiskinan. Percuma aja ngasih sedekah klo fungsinya cuma memperpanjang kemelaratan dan mengaburkan kebutuhan manusia akan sebuah mode hidup yg layak.
Misery and poverty are so absolutely degrading, and
exercise such a paralysing effect over the nature of men, that no
class is ever really conscious of its own suffering.
Dan dia juga menginginkan mode hidup yg sempurna bagi manusia yaitu Individualisme manusia. Krn properti pribadi telah mengaburkan kualitas manusia dari diri mereka sendiri. Sekarang orang2 melihat kualitas dari properti yg dimiliki bukannya dari diri manusia itu sendiri.
With the abolition of private property, then, we shall have true,
beautiful, healthy Individualism. Nobody will waste his life in
accumulating things, and the symbols for things. One will live.
To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.
Menyalahkan ironi mesin yang kemudian malah membuat manusia menderita,

employment, and, having no work to do, become hungry and take to
thieving.
At present machinery competes against man.
Under proper conditions machinery will serve man.
Dan kemudian membandingkan dengan kehidupan Jesus yang mendukung Individualism, hmmm... tapi pemikiran spt ini bisa berbahaya apabila terlalu bebas bro. Semua nya demi hidup yg lebih hidup shg memungkinkan nikah = gak penting lagi. (dia nyangka Jesus g nikah, pdhl blum tentu).
