The Cost of Human Culture

If we 've been paying attention to see all around us, n.b in cultures, in the festival of the Mexican or the Spaniard, or in our nearby neighbour region Bali, with its many ceremony, that consists of parching objects inside their stupas and other flowery ceremonial tradition.

We can conclude that there are many well established tradition inside our culture, besides the modern pop culture, that we created along in time, be it for the sake of tourism or for the sake of religion, that has become somewhat a burden to the resources of the earth.

In my religion ISLAM, there are limit to how we can lived our lives. This limit is what the justice system tries to balanced. If you have exceeded something, then God will not like it, it is somewhat similar to Gluttony in Cristian's seven deadly sins. 

Perhaps you did not know about something called "progress trap ? yes, w/ advertisement that makes you feel not so great, or that the goods that you have is not adequate enough, you would be willing to buy a new updated or upgraded one in the name of progress. But do you know about planned absolescence ? its when some product hits the time limit, it will self destructs, or become very ineffective beside the recent model. With the two of that, you would not know about exceeding your limit, because its integrated in our modern life's in the name of progress.

Our culture of consumerism linked with capitalism have the need for "sales ". It is the opposite of the product of advanced mind in the beginning times of ISLAM. An example being an astrolabe that projected the sky in 2D plane, to see time etc, until now it is working perfectly, VS handphones.

Back to the top, we can asked again about our cultural tradition that's in line with modern technological progress trap. Until when do we have the time and the resource to have this kind of culture ? that must burn trees, have all types of clothing to wear in about 10 different kind of ceremony ?.  If our 7 billion people are not educated about the limit of our earth, then well see... absolutely impossible to have all of the people have all the resource that they want. There's a limit to our earth.

A study about limit is all we need.. and in ISLAM it is all in excessiveness that God doesn't want human to be living.

Allah says: “O children of Adam, take your adornment to every mosque. Eat and drink, but be not excessive. Indeed, He does not like those who commit excess.” [Sûrah al-A`râf: 31]
